I love it here in Greece!
We had basically a whole day of flying on Monday due to the 8 hour time difference between Texas and Greece. Traveling that long was very much worth the wait because when we landed in Athens, we were so excited and ready to explore the country. We met our tour guides Pavlos (Paul, in English) and Yanis (Johnny, in English) who led us on a bus that took us to the Titania Hotel. Athens is such a busy place! There are people driving mopeds/bikes everywhere! And I strongly believe that any tourist who isn't careful on the streets can be sideswiped by a car and the driver of that car might not even realize what he/she did. There aren't many trucks or SUVs in Greece because gas is uber-expensive. Anyways, I loved the view from Greece both from the airplane and from the ground level! It's so beautiful here! There's the deep blue sky, the gorgeous green grass, and the KALAMATA olives which have a bittersweet taste. I've made a promise to myself that I would have a Kalamata olive every day I'm here in Greece just so I can get used to the taste. Getting over jetlag was a bit difficult, but I think everyone in the group has adjusted to the time shock.
I love the food here in Greece! I've tried a Greek salad and something else which I can't remember but it was like an eggplant lasagna (and it was DELICIOUS)! We have already had soo many adventures here which I don't have enough time to blog about, but I'll just post pictures for the rest of this blog post. We've been to Athens, Corinth, Delphi, and are currently in Kalambaka (I love the view from our hotel of the awesome mountains!). Here are some pics!
